5 pregnancy goodies to have
August 15, 2011 in mommy stuff
When I was pregnant, I was really excited about it and wanted to be pregnant for awhile. Even when I was pregnant with my second baby girl, I really enjoyed being pregnant and loved having the big belly. I had recommended some books to read in my previous post, but here, I wanted to show you some goodies I had while I was pregnant to make things even more fun!
1) Hi Bebe, BT-200T Fetal Doppler / Heart Rate Monitor 3MHz – This fetal heart monitor doppler gave us the peace of mind we needed that our baby was developing great and on track. Having gone through two miscarriages, we needed to know how our baby was doing, especially in the first trimester. We used this Hi Bebe fetal doppler quite often during 11-18 weeks and it was so fun to be able to hear our baby’s heartbeat whenever we wanted. Having this doppler at home made us feel so much more at ease that everything was going great. We still used it later on in my pregnancies, even though I could feel the baby move, because it was nice to hear that she was doing well and made us connect to our babies earlier while they were in my womb. As well, the fetal doppler
was a life-saver to us (saving our sanity that is) in my third trimester when I fell down on the sidewalk on my belly (this happened with both of my pregnancies, you just get clumsy during the last trimester)! Before we can get to any doctor or wait to see if I’m okay (any bleeding), we were able to hear that our baby was doing great still and that she was not in any real danger since we knew what heartbeat she should be at. We both just loved having this little machine around, it was just so comforting and reassuring to us to know our baby girl was okay.
2) The Pregnancy Calendar – This is a must have while I was pregnant because it was so much fun to see the progress of my pregnancy and how big I grew! This calendar include a bunch as stickers where you can mark important dates like “first kick,” “boy or girl” discovery, or prenatal appointments. Also, after recording all these dates and stats about my first pregnancy, it was great to go back to look to compare it to my second pregnancy. I would say to get this for sure for your pregnancy!
3) Baby Be Mine Maternity Belly Band in 4 Sizes – This belly band is a must-have when you’re pregnant because a lot of tops eventually slide up! During the first six months, sometimes you can still use some of your non-maternity clothes but they may be too short, so this belly band will help cover the rest! I actually used it even during my last trimester because my maternity tops would ride up because my belly was too big by then for my clothes! So this belly band came in handy throughout my pregnancies and I loved that you can hide the top of your maternity pants waistband too. Furthermore, you can use this postpartum too since it could help hide that postpartum tummy while you’re breastfeeding! This Baby Be Mine Maternity Belly Band
comes in so many different colors as well so you can match all your maternity clothes.
4) Boppy Prenatal Total Body Pillow – With my first pregnancy, I didn’t have this pillow and I was soooooo glad that I got this for my second one since I knew I had so much trouble sleeping during my first pregnancy. This pillow was very useful during 2nd and 3rd trimester as you get bigger and bigger, you get more uncomfortable with your sleep so this really came in handy during those nights. I love this pillow and actually still use it! haha.
5) Miss Oops Popper Stoppers – You may think, what the heck are these?! Well, you may not need it now, but you will sure need it later (as in later in your pregnancy or with your second pregnancy)! My belly button did not pop out until my second pregnancy and I didn’t like the way it popped out of my maternity clothes, especially the ones that hug your body so I used these Miss Oops Popper Stoppers
to help smooth out that part of my belly. It worked like a charm and I highly recommend it if you have yours pop out!
I hope these five pregnancy must-have’s will be on your shopping list since they made my pregnancies fun and comforting, I know they will help you have a great pregnancy too! Please do not hesitate to ask me anything about these products in the comments!
